Intro to Functional Programming & more!
August 14 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
After a couple of months off for summer we’re back in August with a bang!
We’ll start late summer/fall 2019 with a topic we’re really interested in – functional programming. We see the popularity of languages like Haskell, Elixir, Clojure, Elm and Scala increasing, so there is a need for everyone to be more educated moving forward.
Our speaker will be one you might be familiar with, and one who’s a real superstar nationally – Drew Varner with NineFX. Drew speaks around the country at events and we want to do everything possible to ensure the local community benefits from his experience and knowledge.
Drew Varner: Drew Varner is a software engineering with 20 years of experience. He owns NineFX, a software development firm focused on the US Federal market. Drew has been developing professionally in Erlang for the last 5 years. He is an active open source contributor to projects written in languages like Erlang, Elixir and Haskell.
Introduction to Functional Programming (abstract coming soon)
Doors open at 6:00 pm (arrive earlier if you like), programming starts at 6:30 pm ET sharp.
Food and beverages will be provides, as always, as will world-class networking opportunities. Our biggest challenge after each meeting is getting people to stop meeting and leave, which is a great sign and one we’re truly thankful for.
